The introduction of the competitive sectors of the 4th biennial
The competition will be held between the participants of the 4th Iranian Packaging Designers Biennial to .obtain awards in 4 separate and exciting categories
• First category: Mass Market Products
Packaging design for all products that are mass-produced and marketed are included in this category .
The works presented in this section will be evaluated and judged based on the specific criteria in 9 product groups and their sub-categories ,considering the limitations, facilities, requirements and design criteria.
BEVERAGES
Water, Soft Drinks, Juices, Milk, Noun alcholic beer, Tea and coffee, Rose water, Distilled drinks, etc.
FOOD
Bread, Cereal, Wheat, Pasta, Dairy Products, Spices, Souse, Meat and Fish, Vegetables, Ready to use foods, Diet Products, etc.
BODY, HEALTH & BEAUTY
Drugs, Vitamin, Supplements, Body and hair shampoo, Cosmetic, Tissue, Body splash, Perfume, Clothes, Shoes, etc.
NUTS & SWEETS
Potato chips, Snack, Nuts, Sweet, Biscuit, Breakfast products, Chocolate, Dessert, Jelly, etc.
HOME & KITCHEN
Detergents, Garden tools, Animal food and toys, Kitchen utensils, Decorative products, Electronics, Games and entertainment, Baby products, Cleaners, etc.
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS
All types of engine oils, Industrial parts, Brake pads, Tools, Wheel chains, Car spare parts, Car air fresheners, Fuel additives, Antifreeze, etc.
PACKAGING FOR GIFTS
This group includes all packages designed and manufactured for a variety of gifts. Occasional packages, Nowruz gifts, all kinds of gift packages, etc.
BRANDING
Packages that have been redesigned to re-brand or achieve brand identity, as well as smart packages and those that somehow interact with the consumer, are also included in this section
OTHER PRODUCTS
If your product packaging does not fall into any of the listed groups Do not worry! This group has been created for this type of packaging. Limited edition, Handmade or luxury products can be offered in this group.

• Second category: Small start-ups and Homemade products
This section is about packaging design for businesses whose product or products are offered in small markets and , social networks, home networks and local markets.
Packaging for products such as: all kinds of sweets, cakes and homemade jams, all kinds of homemade spices, decorative handicrafts, cosmetic products, decorative products, flowers and plants, edible or medicinal oils, handmade candles, tea and coffee, clothing and etc.
• Third category: Experimental Ideas and creativity
This category has been created to Identify and support creative experiences and ideas in 2 separate sub-categories: Professional concepts and Experimental / Student ideas.
PROFESSIONAL CREATIVE CONCEPTS
In this sub-category , design studios , advertising agencies and independent designers compete with each other by providing creative and innovative solutions for packaging design (graphics or packaging structure) of various goods or services .
The works of this category will be evaluated based on the general criteria of the biennial and focusing on creativity and innovation.
Note: The works presented in this category must be able to be printed or mass produced.
EXPERIMENTAL & STUDENTS CONCEPTS
This sub-category is intended to present works that are designed with a focus on creativity. To participate in this sub-category, you must design works that have innovative, unique, and solutions in design to solve or improve a problem in packaging design.
These solutions can be considered for the following: modification of packaging, method of use, type of supply in the store, reducing shelf space, reducing material consumption, optimal use of plastic or optimization of plastic consumption, suggest using a different type of packaging and etc.
• Forth category: Sustainable & environmentally friendly packaging
This sub-category is intended to present works that are designed with a focus on creativity. To participate in this sub-category, you must design works that have innovative, unique, and solutions in design to solve or improve a problem in packaging design.
These solutions can be considered for the following: modification of packaging, method of use, type of supply in the store, reducing shelf space, reducing material consumption, optimal use of plastic or optimization of plastic consumption, suggest using a different type of packaging and etc.
